Description Tolima style 18K Pendant/Pin 3 Emeralds 14K Chain
Notes This is a combination pin & pendant with both a pin with a 'C' closure and a bail measuring about 1/4' across (and slightly less deep). It is made of 18K gold in the shape of an anthropomorphic figure, Tolima style, with 3 sizeable beautiful faceted emerald-cut bezel-set emeralds of spectacular color down the middle of the figure. You can see some inclusions under magnification, but they are not cloudy and the color is lovely. The front of the figure has a Florentine finish and back is smooth. It measures 1-1/4' tall x 7/8' across the wings and weighs around 5 grams without the chain. It is currently strung on a 16' 14K gold very fine chain with a spring-ring closure. It would truly be incredible on a heavier chain. I believe it dates to ca. 1920, and is based on pre-Columbian figures on jewelry currently in the Museo del Oro in Columbia (striking similarity). No condition problems at all--lovely piece.
