Notes 1st edition/1st printing. Book is bound in orange cloth, gilt stamped/deco rated; pages have deckled edges and map illustrated endpapers. It is very clean and straight. There is a frontispiece of the Longfellow House and Cabot House, protected by tissue. The spine is faded, spine ends and corners have some wear and there is light foxing on page edges and endpapers. Throughout the book are etchings by Ada C. Williamson. According to the preface, this is the record of a summer's jaunt undertaken without any prearranged plan other than the firm determination not to follow any given direction.
