Notes Volume is translated from the French by Mary J. Stafford. It is bound in burgundy cloth with gilt shield and crossed swords on the front binding and gilt lettering and decoration on the spine. Book is very clean, straight & very tight (perhaps unread). There is some light wear of edges, mostly at the upper & lower spine, corners are lightly bumped & worn. There is slightly darker (than binding cloth) stain on the front upper edge and extending downwards unevenly for a couple of inches (not particularly noticeable). Pages are clean and very tight without marks or tears. The frontispiece has a protective tissue guard, which is intact. Book is divided into three parts; Part I is The Parisians Of The Stone Age; Part II is The Lacustrian City (Age of Polished Stone) and Part III is The Foundation Of Paris (Age of Metal).
