Notes This very nice, three volume set is bound in publisher's dark green cloth with gilt printing on the spines. They are all clean, straight & tight, without marks or tears and in Near Fine condition. Volume I includes pages 1-1200, A-E; Volume II pages 1201-2422, F-O; Volume III pages 2423-3639, P-Z. A discussion for the amateur, the professional and commercial grower, of the kinds, characteristics and methods of cultivation of the species of plants grown in the regions of the United States and Canada for ornament, for fancy, for fruit and for vegetables; with keys to the natural families and genera, descriptions of the horticultural capabilities of the states and provinces and dependent islands, and sketches of eminent horticulturists--from book. Illustrated with some full-page colored plates, four thousand (B&W) engravings in the text, and ninety-six full-page cuts.
