Notes Signed and Inscribed by the author on the front end page (in Italian, though the book is in English - the author lived in the U.S. from the age of 4 until his career took him abroad again as an adult). Stated First Edition and it is the First Printing. The book is in Near Fine condition - straight, clean, tight with no writing in it other than the author's inscription. It is bound in green cloth with silver gilt printing on the spine and the front panel. It has only a small amount of shelf and handling wear to the cloth at spine ends and 1 lower corner tip to keep it from being Fine. The dustjacket is price intact, bright, clean and unfaded with just a touch of shelfwear to spine and flap fold ends, a very short, completely closed tear (no material loss) to upper back edge, and a small amount of rubbing along the spine folds. The dustjacket was printed just a tad shorter, about 1/32", than the book - not noticeable unless you're looking for it. Great condition, and a very scarce book - particularly signed. Made into a 1954 U.S. romantic movie set in Italy called 'Three Coins In The Fountain' - that reputedly vastly increased U.S. tourism in Italy as nominated for an Oscar. As was the song from the movie (same title as the movie). That song was an enduring romantic favorite for a couple of generations and won the 1954 Oscar for best original song. The story was remade as a musical in 1964 called 'The Pleasure Seekers' and then in 1990 was made into a TV film. The song from the original movie was a #1 single in the U.K. as recorded by Frank Sinatra, and was also recorded both by The Four Aces (another #1 single, in the U.S.) and it was yet again recorded by Dinah Shore (take your pick; they were all done extremely well). ; 8.25" x 5.75" x 1.25".; 320 pages; Signed by Author
