Notes Fine book is bound in beautiful linen cloth with burgundy leather quarter-bound spine. It is clean, straight & tight, no defects. The near fine slipcase is burgundy cloth covered board. The edges are not worn; there is a faint circular stain on the front and another faint stain on the lower edge of the back, near the opening. Both stains are in the cloth only and do not affect the interior of the slipcase. This first thus edition is expanded from the 1987 edition and translating the 1493 original. Featured throughout are writings by Columbus on his return to Spain following his discovery of the New World. The book is illustrated with facsimiles of original documents, woodcut reproductions, color charts and maps, along with black-and-white margin illustrations. The signature of Columbus is reproduced and stamped in burgundy on the front board of the book. Very nice! ; B&W Illustrations; 11 1/4" x 12 1/4"; 82 pages
