Notes 1st Canadian edition/1st printing. Book is bound in red cloth with black and gilt printing on the spine. It is tight and straight, clean without any tears or marks other than previous owner's name and the date 1969 written on the front end page. The endpapers are illustrated with drawings of an Indian village. The spine ends are lightly bumped from shelving. The dustjacket is intact, clean and bright. The spine and back panel are somewhat sunned and there is light edgewear and rubbing. Author's third book is about making friends - with trappers, fisherman and priests, with nomadic wild rice harvesters, children and dogs (from dj). Illustrations include 18 line drawings, the end paper illustrations and a map. A very nice copy of this book. ; B&W Illustrations; 8 1/2" x 5"; 242 pages
