Notes 1st edition/1st printing. The fine book is beautifully bound in soft, blue-green cloth with gilt printing on the spine and embossed image of a seagull and moon on the front. It is clean, straight and tight. The very good+ dustjacket is unclipped, clean, crisp & bright; it would be fine but for a slit in the front panel that has been repaired internally and can hardly be seen. This extraordinary volume explores all facets of the enchanted ocean world, from the endless rolling expanses that have awed and fascinated man from his earliest days to the unbelievable vistas under the waters that only modern man has begun to develop. There are 136 illustrations throughout, with 109 of them in full color. A truly beautiful book! ; Color Photographs; 11" x 9 1/2"; 258 pages
