White Cameo 14K Pendant w/Seed Pearls & 14K Chain, ca. 1890s

Description
|
Beautiful "Roman nosed" white stone cameo with a 14K gold scalloped design setting, with tiny seed pearls surrounding it, presently strung on a fine 14K gold chain with a spring clasp. The cameo is ca. 1890s. It measures, in its setting, 1-1/8" tall x 7/8" wide. No damage--in wonderful condition. The picture doesn't do it justice--the carved portion is a pure white, very crisp and finely carved, with a tinge of pink to the background, and slightly more pink on the back side (I had to allow some "pinkness" in the scan to show detail). The metal surrounding the cameo is not marked at all that we can find. However, we tested the metal 3 times with 3 different kits so we could be absolutely sure of giving accurate information and it tested each time as 14K gold. Lovely piece!
