AMERICAN SONGBIRDS New York Random House 1940 Hardcover 40, 41, 54 VG/NONE The illustrated binding has pictures of birds on the front; the book itself is clean, straight & tight with no marks other than previous owner's gift inscription on the front facing page. It reads "Happy Birthday to Jane from Carter & Cynthia and dated May the twentieth, Nineteen-forty-one". The book has lots of color plates that were reproduced from ones in the State Museum at Albany, N.Y. The edges of the binding are worn and there is quite a bit of rubbing around the edges also, however the color illustration is pretty much free of rubbing and the color is still bright and colorful.
